Linked sessions
Link several sessions from one order, such as an engagement shoot and an after-wedding shoot with wedding coverage.
When a client buys a package with several shoots, for example wedding coverage together with an engagement session and an after-wedding session, you create a separate session for each shoot, with its own date, location, gallery and questionnaire. You link them all to a main session.
Main session and linked sessions
You can add linked sessions straight away in the “New session” form (the “Linked sessions” step) or later, on the “Linked sessions” card in the main session’s details. Links have one level: a linked session can’t have linked sessions of its own.
- “Add a session linked to this one” opens the new session form with the clients from the main session.
- “Link an existing session” lets you attach another session to this one, or this session to another (which then becomes the main one). Cancelled sessions aren’t on the list.
Settlement
A linked session without its own package is settled in the main session: that is where the contract and payment schedule are. A linked session with a separate package has its own settlement.
Detaching, deleting and cancelling
“Detach” leaves the session standalone, without changing its contract or payments. When you delete or cancel a main session that has linked sessions, the panel asks about each one: “Delete too” (or “Cancel too”) or “Leave as standalone”. A linked session with a payment, a contract or a gallery can’t be deleted together with the main one, because those are things the client has already seen.
On the session list, a linked session has a “Linked to:” label followed by the name of the main session.
