Online payments with Stripe Connect
Connect Stripe once in Settings, and clients pay for a booking, an instalment or extra photos directly on your studio pages.
Stripe Connect is the main way to accept online payments in Flyp. You connect it in Settings → Payments and payouts with the “Connect with Stripe” button. Flyp creates a Stripe Express account for your studio, and you fill in a short Stripe form: your business details and the bank account for payouts. If you stop halfway, you can come back with the “Finish setup” button.
The account status is shown by a badge: “Active”, “Needs completing” (the panel lists what Stripe still needs) or “Not connected”.
How clients pay
Once the account is active, client payments (at booking, instalments, surcharges and extra photo purchases in the gallery, vouchers, add-on products) go to your Stripe account. The client pays in a window on your studio page, without being sent to the Stripe website. Payment methods (card, BLIK, Przelewy24, Apple Pay, Google Pay and others) depend on what you have turned on in your Stripe dashboard.
Payouts
With an active account you can set a payout schedule to your bank account: daily, weekly (with a day of the week), monthly (with a day of the month) or manual.
Flyp’s commission
Flyp takes a commission only on extra photo sales in a gallery (selection surcharges, extra photo purchases). Booking payments, instalments, payment links, vouchers and add-on products carry no commission on any plan. On the Free and Starter plans the commission on photos is 10% and 5% respectively, and on Pro and Studio it is 0%.
On a plan with a commission, you can turn on “Pass Flyp’s commission on to the client as a service fee” in the same section. The client then pays the commission as a separate, visible “Platform service fee” item, and you receive the full base amount. A sample calculation is shown below the switch.
Other options
On the Pro and Studio plans you can use your own account with a payment provider instead of Stripe, and on any plan you can register with PayU: Your own payment provider. Flyp works without online payments too: you record cash or bank transfer payments in the session (Payments, refunds and payment documents).
