Vouchers and discount coupons
A voucher is a gift worth a specific amount, a coupon is a discount code. You handle them in two separate places in the panel.
Vouchers
Vouchers are gifts for an amount that the client uses to pay for a session. You issue them with the “New voucher” button: you choose a package (the value is taken from its current price) or “No package (any amount)”, the expiry date and, optionally, a usage limit, the recipient and a personal message. A voucher is always in the studio currency, for an amount from 10 to 10 000. Without a usage limit, a voucher works until its balance runs out.
The client enters the code on the booking page in the “Gift voucher” field. For a client who booked through you in the panel, you settle the voucher in the session with the “Settle with a voucher” button (Payments, refunds and payment documents).
Selling vouchers online
In Settings → Voucher sales you can turn on “Online sales”. Clients can then buy a voucher for a package from the selected session types (“Packages for sale”) and, with “Any amount” turned on, also for an amount within set limits, with “Amounts suggested to clients”. You also set the default validity, the form (online, paper or both) and whether the client can add a personal message.
A voucher bought online shows the source “Bought online by a client” in its details, and one issued in the panel “Issued manually by the studio”. The status is Active, Used up, Expired or Revoked (“Revoke voucher” takes effect immediately and can’t be undone).
Coupons
Coupons are discount codes you create with the “New coupon” button. The discount is a percentage, an amount or “Free photos” (the client doesn’t pay for a chosen number of extra photos bought in the gallery). The scope is “All sessions”, “Bookings” or “Gallery purchases” (“Free photos” only works in the gallery). Optional limits: validity dates, minimum order amount, maximum discount amount, total uses and uses per client. You can pause a coupon (“Pause”) and resume it (“Resume”) without deleting it, and see its uses in the details.
The difference in short
A voucher is a form of payment (like a gift card), tied to a person and an amount. A coupon lowers the price and can be used by many clients within its limits. Promo codes for your Flyp plan are something else again: Plans, prices and extra storage.
