What and how clients can download from a gallery
In the gallery settings you decide whether the client can download single photos and the whole gallery as a ZIP. The client chooses the file quality when downloading.
What the client can do with a gallery is set on its “Appearance” tab, in the “What the client can do” section:
- Downloading single photos from the preview,
- Downloading everything (ZIP) as a single archive,
- Lightbox (photo zoom); without it the client only sees the grid.
The two download options are independent: you can allow only the ZIP or only single photos. Values for new galleries are set in Gallery defaults.
Download quality
The client chooses when downloading: the original in full quality (for printing and archiving) or a lighter, compressed version. In a selection gallery, a photo that wasn’t selected or paid for can only be downloaded in the compressed version.
The client sees watermarked photos with the watermark until they buy them or until you turn the watermark off. A photo bought or downloaded as an original is always without the watermark.
ZIP and statistics
A large gallery downloads as a ZIP straight into the browser’s download manager, without straining the memory of the client’s device. You can see the number of ZIP downloads and single photo downloads on the gallery’s “Statistics” tab.
Flyp doesn’t store RAW files: it converts them to JPEG on upload, so the client can’t download a RAW file even in full quality.
