How to create a gallery and send it to a client
A gallery is built from the photos of a chosen session and gets a link to send to your client straight away.
A gallery is always built from the photos of a specific session, so first upload the photos in the session details (the “Photos” tab). Then go to Galleries and click “New gallery”.
Gallery wizard
- Enter the gallery name and choose the session.
- Choose the type: Selection gallery (the client marks their favourite photos and can buy more) or Final gallery (finished photos to view and download).
- Select the photos that should be in it (“Select all” selects the whole session).
- In “Access protection”, keep “Password” or choose “Public” (anyone with the link can see the gallery). You can turn on email verification later, on the “Security” tab.
The starting values for new galleries (watermark, downloads, layout, expiry) are set once in Settings → Gallery defaults.
Gallery tabs
- Photos: order, cover and sections.
- Appearance: name, address ending, expiry date, layout (grid or masonry), style and “What the client can do” (zoom, downloads, studio logo and name, watermark).
- Security: no protection, a password or email verification (the client gets in with a one-time link; you can limit access to a list of addresses). Only one protection method works at a time.
- Sales: surcharges for extra photos and what happens after the selection is confirmed.
- Statistics: link visits, photo views, unique visitors, who is viewing right now and the number of downloads.
- For guests: a separate link with some of the photos for guests, Guest gallery.
Publishing and the link
A new gallery is published straight away. The “Hide” button turns it off temporarily, without deleting it, and “Publish” brings it back. The expiry date on the “Appearance” tab closes the link on the chosen day; an empty field means the gallery never expires.
You can copy the link from the gallery list or from the details. You can change the address ending in “Appearance”, for example to the couple’s names. If the link has already been sent, tick “Keep the old address as a redirect” when changing it.
Sections
Sections make a large gallery easier to browse, for example “Ceremony” and “Reception”. Photos without a section appear under “No section” in the panel, and the client sees them as “Other”. You can save the section layout as a studio template with the “Templates” button and load it in later galleries.
