Client photo selection and extra photo surcharges
The client marks their favourite shots in a selection gallery, and you set the price of extra photos in the session package.
In a selection gallery, the client marks their favourite photos at their own pace, and you see it live on the “Photos” tab (marked “Selected by the client (not paid for yet)”). Until the client confirms the selection, they can change their mind. You turn on marking in the gallery wizard with the “Let the client mark photos” option.
Extra photo price
You set the price per photo above the number included in the package in the session package, not in the gallery. The “Sales” tab only shows a preview (“Each additional photo: … incl. tax”) with an “Edit package” link. If the session has no package, or the package has no extra photo price, the client can’t buy more shots, and the panel warns you about it. The price is gross: the client pays exactly what they see.
Confirmation and payment
If the selection goes beyond the package, the client pays the surcharge online (through Stripe or your own payment provider, Online payments with Stripe Connect). When the surcharge is zero or the studio doesn’t accept online payments, the selection is confirmed without payment, and you settle up with the client yourself.
The client can buy individual photos only after confirming the selection, so they don’t pay twice for the same shots.
After the selection is confirmed
On the “Sales” tab:
- “Buying more after confirmation” lets the client pick more photos; by default the gallery closes after confirmation,
- “Auto-finalisation after payment” (off by default) removes the watermark after payment, turns on downloads and hides the photos that weren’t bought,
- “Undo the client’s selection” lets the client choose again; it doesn’t work once the selection includes paid surcharges.
“Copy the selected file names” copies the list of files for a filter in Lightroom, and “Download the selected photos (ZIP)” downloads the chosen photos.
